The exciting extra-inning clash where the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays by one run drew a total 51M spectators in the United States, Canadian, and Japan markets. It additionally is the most-watched Fall Classic matchup since the 2017 final game between the Dodgers and Astros, which drew over 29 million. This marks a 16% improvement compared to the previous Game 7 between the Nationals and Astros, which drew 23.19M.

In the weekly rankings, the sixth game ranked 4th, Game 4 ranked 7th, the fifth game was 8th, and Game 3 finished in thirteenth position.

In Japan, where the deciding contest began at 9 PM local time, it attracted 12M. This came after last Friday’s Game 6 – in which World Series Most Valuable Player Yamamoto gave up a single run in six frames – recorded over 13 million spectators, making it the most-watched Fall Classic matchup on a sole broadcaster in the country.

The entire seven-game World Series averaged over 15.7 million viewers on the Fox network, a two percent rise from last year’s Dodgers-Yankees matchup. This represents the first time after 2015 and ‘16 that the World Series has seen audience growth for two consecutive years.

Counting the Game 1 broadcast on the Univision network, the total US average reached over 16 million. The overall World Series average in Japan was 9.7M and 8.1M in the Canadian market.

The complete playoffs on Fox, FS1 and FS2 drew 8.09 million watchers, an 8% rise compared to last year and Fox’s best postseason ratings after 2017.

Major League Baseball reported that the Fall Classic was televised in 203 countries and territories by 44 media partners in 16 various languages.
