American performer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

The actor appeared in a couple of episodes of "Friends" as Monica Geller's boyfriend a doctor named Roger.

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
